LATIN HEARTS

The "Art of Seduction" with a Gypsy guitar

A seductive playing guitar ignites melodic fires of Brazilian, Caribbean and Gypsy rhythms.

The enchanting guitar CD Latin Hearts is the acoustic diary of a journey to the island of Mallorca.

Mario Berger combines his sensitive, heartwarming guitar playing with invigorating Latin American rhythms, thus establishing himself as a marvellous interpreter and composer. Sounds of accordion, percussion and Raimund Engelhard's Indian tablas contribute to the typical sound of Latin Hearts.

The compelling Afro-Caribbean rhythm of Dancing with Paul (Cut 1) shows the rhythmic and melodic abilities of accordionist Jupp Arenz.

Mario Berger plays not only the guitars, but also the melodic bass in Midnight Bossa (Cut 2), a track with a touch of the Brasilian.

Another, slow Bossa is Puerto de Soller (Cut 4): Its classical guitar introduction reveals Mario Berger's technical brilliance. The same goes for the solistic intro of the following track Coccopazzo (Cut 5).

Slow Rumba (Cut 3) und Gabrielle (Cut 9) with its celestial guitar harmonics show Spanish Gypsy influences. Some fiery Lambada flickers on Lombasa Island (Cut 8).

Pat Metheny may have been the force behind the groove of Puerto de Banus (Cut 6) and Hawaii (Cut 7) features Mario Berger duetting with himself on steel and nylon string guitars.

Midnight Lullaby (Cut 10) forms a contemplative conclusion for the album with guitar arpeggios, Jupp Arenz' accordion and some melodic bass by producer Tato Gomez.
